Learning to Read Scripture Spiritually

Holy Spirit Ascension approaches Scripture through PaRDeS, an ancient method of biblical interpretation that recognizes multiple layers of meaning within the text.

These layers are not treated as competitors. A passage may carry historical, practical, symbolic, and spiritual meaning at the same time.

Scripture reveals connections between the visible and unseen. Hebrews 8:5 describes earthly things as a “copy and shadow” of heavenly realities, while Daniel 10:12–13 and 2 Corinthians 4:18 point toward the unseen spiritual realm.

In Matthew 6:10, Yeshua teaches:

“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

Dreams, visions, and prophecy frequently communicate through symbols. Scripture uses imagery such as wilderness, temples, light, water, fire, and trees to express both literal and spiritual meanings.

A wilderness may represent testing, a temple the dwelling place of the Spirit, and light divine revelation. Spiritual interpretation does not erase the literal meaning. It explores what else Scripture may reveal.

Chronos describes chronological time measured in days, months, and years. Kairos refers to an appointed moment when God's purpose unfolds.

Understanding this distinction offers another perspective when studying prophecy, dreams, visions, and the relationship between earthly events and spiritual fulfillment.

Spiritual growth involves more than studying Scripture. It requires putting what we learn into practice.

These lessons explore biblical symbolism, hearing God, discernment, dreams, prophecy, and spiritual patterns. As your understanding grows, you learn to examine your thoughts, perceptions, experiences, and prayers through Scripture.
